About KM Toy Poodles
I didn't plan to become a Korean toy poodle breeder. If you'd told me fifteen years ago that's where I'd end up, I probably would have laughed. But dogs have a way of taking you places you never expected to go.
My name is Kelsi, and I've been around dogs my whole life. But I didn't get serious about working with them until about ten years ago when I got my first mini Australian shepherd. That dog opened a door I didn't know was there. I started showing, learned the breed inside out, and spent the next eight years showing and breeding AKC Australian Shepherds. I loved the community, the craft, and the deep appreciation for what a well-bred dog actually looks and moves like. That time shaped how I think about breeding in ways that still affect me today.
Eventually, I stepped back from Aussies because life shifted, and so did I — four years ago I started breeding toy poodles.

Finding the Breed
My first toy poodle quietly changed things for me. You know the kind I change I mean, it’s what you see when you look back after a year and realize everything is different. I started with AKC toy poodles before discovering Korean toy poodles and their absolutely adorable teddy bear faces, when we brought home Gambler, I knew I was in it deep.
Korean toy poodles have short snouts and large round eyes, features they keep throughout their lives, which makes them look just like living teddy bears. But I love more than just their looks, their temperament makes these poodles terrific family pets. They're calm, but not boring; affectionate without being frantic. They watch you while figuring you out, then they show up for you in ways that are hard to put into words until you've experienced it yourself.
I’ve been breeding toy poodles for four years. I keep it deliberately small so each dog — and their litters — can get the attention they deserve. In fact, my poodle breeding program will never become a big business! I'm trying to build something I'm proud of — a program where every dog is known, every litter is planned and intentional, and every puppy goes to a home I feel good about.

Life in Our Home
All of my dogs live in our home, and it shapes everything we do. Every dog is well socialized, having been exposed to a variety of sights, sounds, noises, and experiences. They're handled daily by me, my husband, and our children and know what a busy house sounds like. My dogs are comfortable around children and understand what it's like to be held and fussed over. By the time a puppy goes home with a new family, they've already had a rich, full start and are ready for a new adventure!
My daughter is one of my dogs' favorite people — and that tells you something about the kind of environment they're raised in. Birdie, one of our moms, follows her around like a shadow. ChiChi does her little twirl whenever someone walks into the kitchen. These are not just dogs I breed, I live with these dogs.
The Families We Work With
I am selective about where my puppies go. That may sound like I'm trying to be difficult, but it’s not about you, it’s about the dogs and what's best for them. My puppies are companion animals who bond deeply — they need to be part of a household to thrive. When I'm matching a puppy with a family, I'm thinking about temperament, energy, lifestyle, and fit. I ask questions because I care about the answer.
Families who do well with our puppies tend to be people who want a dog that's truly present in their lives — not an accessory, not a background pet. They're families with children, or with elderly members, or individuals who simply want a devoted companion by their side. Many of our puppies go on to serve as therapy or emotional support animals, and that's something I'm genuinely proud of.
If that sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you.
Let's Talk
The best way to find out if a KM puppy is right for your family is to start a conversation. I'm easy to reach, I'm honest about what I have and what I don't, and I'll never pressure you into a decision. Fill out an application, send a message, or just say hello — I'd love to hear from you.
